The contents of the Ministry of Social Cohesion’s civic education booklet are being finalised. Minister of Social Cohesion, Amna Ally, provided his update during the national 2017 budget debate in the National Assembly, today.
Minister Ally explained that the booklet will highlight the valuable contributions made by the country’s diverse groups, and will be distributed amongst primary schools throughout Guyana.
“The booklet is intended to educate our primary age students about the value of being good citizens, about love and respect and knowledge about our multi-ethnic society,” Minister Ally said.
The sum of $90.1M has been allocated to the Ministry of Social Cohesion for activities and to support consultations for the ministry’s 2017 -2021 strategic plan which is expected to be completed within the second half of 2017.
