STEPS TO TAKE TO REPLACE LOST OLD AGE PENSION BOOKLETS

The Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security outlines the step-by-step process by which pensioners can replace their booklets if they are lost.

The steps are as follows:

1. Pensioner should report loss immediately to the nearest police station.

2. Pensioner must present a statement of the police report to his social security officer. The security officer will then write up a loss report and will prepare a stop payment order for the lost booklet.

3. A stop payment order is sent to the Guyana Post Office Corporation.

4. The pensioner is issued with a replacement booklet within 2-3 months if the old booklet is not recovered.

5.The pensioner will be able to cash the coupons for those 2-3 months
