Minister of Public Health Dr. George Norton expressed his “profound regret and remorse” to the National Assembly for “inaccurate statements” that he had provided to the House.
The statements were made by the minister in response to questions on the Medical Bond issue which was brought before the House during the last sitting before the House went in to recess.
Yesterday, Minister Norton said he took “full responsibility for the misinformation” explaining that the inaccurate answers he provided to the House were based on information supplied to him. “Since August 8, I have come to the firm position that the answers given to two questions relating to payment to New GPC Inc and the storage of drugs in the bond were inaccurate,” Norton told the House. He vowed that no similar incident would reoccur.
