Regional Engineer, Region Five, Dhanpall Sukha
Regional Engineer, Dhanpall Sukha, in a recent interview with the Government Information Agency (GINA), said that the aim is to work in collaboration with the Regional Education Department as part of a programme to foster agriculture development within Region Five.
Sukha said the initiative will ensure that Region Five continues along its path of being one of the largest agriculture producing regions within the country.
According to the Regional Engineer, the region is also looking to eliminate all earthen or mud access dams in residential areas. He said while there has been an increase in housing schemes not much emphasis was placed on providing all-weather access roads in these housing areas. He explained that the region’s annual infrastructure budget programme seeks to address this, “one street, road, dam at a time.”
